What a great week of learning and inspiration I had in Texas this past June . The most amazing thing for me was to feel the power of the acupuncture applied in a group setting. I know that the acupuncture has to help facilitate the recovery process on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. The addiction affects all those levels, so the treatment must access and address them all. It was just amazing to feel the shift of energy that occurred with the second outpatient group that we needled...from outright anger and defiance to calm and a deep sense of peace.

I went to Dallas in June 2008 to undertake the training for the NADA protocol. I was quite nervous before I came wondering if I would be able to learn all that I had to learn in only 5 days!! I must say that I was overwhelmed by the welcoming I received from Dr Méndez .I absolutely loved my time there and although it was challenging and at times my head was spinning I got through and I feel that I am confident to bring this treatment back to Australia and make awareness for Detox Acupuncture. I attended the NADA training in Dallas, Texas and I have to say that I am still positively charged up with what I learned and very thankful for having the opportunity to interact with such a diverse population of patients. Moreover, the hands-on guidance and support, kindness, respect and absolute openness and willingness to share that I received from Dr. Susana Méndez is astounding. I felt like I was part of the staff and quite honestly would be honored if I was. My name is Lynne  and I am 32 years old. I have been seeing Dr. Méndez  since November 5th, 2009  twice a week. My diagnosis includes: Epilepsy, Major depression, generalized anxiety disorder, high blood pressure, chemical dependence and eating disorders.

 

When I started treatment I was on  many medications including antidepressants, anti seizure medication pain killers, blood pressure medication  plus  the illegal drugs that I was using.

 

My symptoms included: pain, major depression, anxiety attacks nearly every day,  lost all of my hair, inability to fall asleep and stay asleep with frequent awakening during the night.

 

Currently, I have eliminated the medications with approval from my primary care physicians: except the blood pressure meds ( we are still working on it! ) and started  consistent psychotherapy with her too. 

My symptoms have reduced tremendously. I am pain free more days than I’m in pain. My energy levels have nearly quadrupled. My anxiety have decreased  and my depression has improved greatly.  I Stopped using illegal drugs and  in the middle of an acupuncture treatment, my eyesight came back.

 

My hair is growing like crazy!!!! My family and I all notice an improvement in the quality of my life.

I certainly wouldn’t be where I’m at today without acupuncture and the support of Dr. Méndez. She has a unique style about her. She is compassionate and supportive but at the same time she encourages me to make healthy choices for my life. She has an exceptional knowledge of both eastern and western medicine and generously shares tips and gives suggestions that have all supported my complete healing.
